The purpose of this initial meeting is:
- to connect with other interested parents and learn about their concerns and goals
- introduce SCPN and how it can benefit the school
- plan the next steps
Sample Agenda
- As people enter the meeting, introduce yourself and ask them to sign in with their names and contact information.
- Welcome and Opening Prayer (5-10 minutes)
- Begin with a prayer asking for St. Carlo’s intercession.
- Introduce yourself and share your interest in SCPN. Help set a positive and welcoming tone for the group.
- Overview of SCPN (5 minutes)
- Hand out the SCPN charter.
- Read the mission statement out loud and give everyone a moment to read the rest on their own.
- Group Reflection: Hopes for the Chapter (20 minutes)
- Invite everyone to share what they’re hoping the school will gain from starting a SCPN chapter.
- Exploring Ideas & Interests (20 minutes)
- Revisit the sample list of activities in the charter
- Ask which ones people are most drawn to.
- Listen for common ground and start to form a general direction for the group’s first steps.
- Closing (5 minutes)
- Express enthusiasm to work together.
- Let the group know that the next meeting will focus on planning the first activity.
- Set a date and time for that meeting.
- Close in prayer and thank everybody for their participation.
